Mi è capitato di risentire questo disco dei Dire Straits dopo tanti anni che non lo ascoltavo...

Mamma mia com'è bello! Difficile trovare qualcosa che cambierei. Ha un suono magico.

Perle come "Why worry", "Money For Nothing", "Brothers In Arms", "Your Latest Trick"...

L'avevo adorato già quando uscì, riascoltarlo con attenzione adesso (dopo circa 20 anni) non ha perso niente del suo fascino. Se non lo conoscete, ve lo consiglio.

I Dire Straits mi piacciono discretamente
e Brothers In Arms è una bella canzone
Mark Knopfler ha fatto un' ottima carriera anche come
solista ciò conferma la bravura e le capacità sue
e di tutto il gruppo

Lunedì 13 giugno, alle 21.00, Rai Radio1 trasmetterà in esclusiva il concerto del grande artista rock britannico Mark Knopfler, in diretta dal Palalottomatica di Roma. La serata sara' condotta da Silvia Boschero.

Rai Radio1 propone da Roma in esclusiva una autentica serata-evento per gli amanti del grande rock, con la diretta di una delle tappe del tour italiano di Mark Knopfler con la sua band. L’artista ha in programma sei concerti nel nostro paese, il 10 giugno a Milano, l’11 a Strà (Padova), il 12 a Firenze, il 13 a Roma, il 14 a Napoli e il 15 a Reggio Calabria. Mark Knopfler ha pubblicato l’anno scorso il suo ultimo album solista “Shangri-la”: in questo disco, il musicista di Newcastle ha approfondito la sua vena autorale con molteplici agganci al country, al blues e al folk dal punto di vista musicale, e storie di antieroi, personaggi emblematici o talvolta controversi. La chitarra sopraffina e la voce profonda di Knopfler sono un punto di riferimento nel rock: lo storico leader dei Dire Straits ha frequentato indifferentemente gli stili che sono alla base della tradizione rock, è stato apprezzato autore di colonne sonore e ha collaborato negli anni con moltissimi colleghi illustri. In concerto, Mark Knopfler sa offrire spettacoli intensi e coinvolgenti.

Si... Se non ricordo male è stato il primo singolo estratto da quel disco.

Tra l'altro, non so se tutti sanno che questo disco fu selezionato dalla Philips, come promozione per la diffusione del Compact Disc (come si chiamava allora), per la qualità dell'incisione e del missaggio. Infatti nel mio vinile c'è un adesivo in cui invitano a provare la purezza del suono del CD!

Io che sono un "meno giovane", da sempre appassionato di musica e di impianti HI-FI, ricordo la prima volta che ascoltai un CD... Sembrava una cosa proveniente da un altro pianeta. La prima cosa che ascoltai, fu il Bolero di Ravel, che inizia con pianissimissimo e cresce di intensità in modo graduale. Eravamo abituati a sentire il crepitio dei dischi mischiato con la musica, e su un pianissimo la cosa era piuttosto fastidiosa. Di colpo, c'era solo la musica. WOW! Avevo 15 anni, ne è passato del tempo
